20,000 point 3DMARK Time Spy Extreme Results Leak for Nvidia’s RTX 4090Over on Chiplhell, images of a 3DMARK Time Spy Extreme benchmark have leaked, showcasing what is alleged to be the performance levels of Nvidia’s RTX 4090 graphics card. With performance levels like this, Nvidia’s RTX 4090 graphics card appears to be around 90% faster than Nvidia’s RTX 3090, which is a tremendous performance leap. With Nvidia’s next-generation graphic architecture, Nvidia is reportedly using TSMC’s 5nm lithography node (some sources have said TSMC’s N4 node), giving the company a strong avenue for performance growth outside of their architectural enhancements over Ampere. With Samsung’s 8nm node (which Nvidia used for their RTX 30 series) being generally considered as inferior to TSMC’s 7nm lithography node, Nvidia’s move from Samsung 8nm to TSMC’s 5nm lithography node should be seen as a tremendous benefit for Nvidia. It could be said that Nvidia are jumping two nodes forward with their RTX 40 series, giving Nvidia the ability to push their GPU clock speeds higher and to increase the power efficiency of their next-generation products.
In the benchmark below, Nvidia’s RTX 4090 graphics card was reportedly used with an Intel i5-12400F processor, leaving some to allege that Nvidia’s RTX 4090 graphics card could achieve higher performance levels with a stronger processor.

In 3DMARK Time Spy Extreme, Nvidia’s RTX 4090 graphics card reportedly reached clock speeds of over 3GHz. If this is true, Nvidia has been able to increase their GPU clock speeds by a huge margin with their Lovelace graphics architecture. We have already seen AMD significantly increase their CPU clock speeds by using TSMC’s 5nm node with their Ryzen 7000 series of CPUs, making high clock speed improvements from Nvidia seem plausible.

Nvidia is expected to reveal their RTX 4090 graphics card at their Geforce Beyond event on September 20th.
