RTX 4060 Becomes Steam's Most Popular GPU According to February Hardware Survey

According to Steam's Hardware & Software Survey, the RTX 4060 graphics card saw a remarkable surge in adoption during February, claiming the top spot as the most popular GPU on the platform. With a usage share of 8.37%, the RTX 4060 has officially surpassed the RTX 3060, boasting an impressive growth rate of 3.91% and establishing a 1.64% lead over its predecessor. Other RTX 40-series cards including the RTX 4060 Ti, RTX 4070, and RTX 4070 Super also experienced notable gains during the month.

The competitive landscape may shift following the March 6th launch of AMD's RX 9070 series graphics cards. Regarding VRAM capacity, 8GB configurations continue to dominate the market with a 43.17% share, while 16GB VRAM usage is steadily approaching that of 4GB configurations.

In the CPU arena, the ongoing battle between AMD and Intel showed minimal movement in February's data. Intel strengthened its position with a market share of 68.89%, representing a 5.14% increase from the previous month, while AMD experienced a corresponding 5.12% decline.

Another significant trend revealed in the survey is the rise of 32GB RAM configurations, which have become Steam users' preferred choice at 46.94%, overtaking 16GB setups. On the operating system front, Windows 10 reclaimed its position as the platform's dominant OS with a usage rate of 53.34%, surpassing Windows 11, which declined to 44.10%. Perhaps most notably, Simplified Chinese has crossed a significant threshold, becoming Steam's majority language with a 50.06% share for the first time in the platform's history.
