AMD is reportedly developing a new RDNA 4 architecture graphics card in secret, codenamed "Ultimate Navi 48," scheduled to make its public debut in Q2 2025. This GPU is strategically positioned to fill the performance gap between NVIDIA's RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080, potentially carving out a valuable market segment between these two competitors.
According to industry sources, the "Ultimate Navi 48" will feature impressively high GPU core frequencies ranging from 3.2GHz to 3.4GHz, paired with high-frequency GDDR6 memory. The card's power consumption is expected to exceed 340W, suggesting serious performance capabilities. Memory configurations are rumored to include either 24GB or 32GB variants, designed to handle demanding games and professional applications.
Following the already released Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, this new card will likely launch under the name Radeon RX 9070 XTX or Radeon RX 9070 XT Ultimate, emphasizing its position as the pinnacle of AMD's x70 series lineup.
If these rumors prove accurate, AMD's upcoming card could offer a more compelling performance-to-price ratio than NVIDIA's offerings, potentially drawing significant consumer interest in the high-end GPU market.
